A handwritten letter from reporter George Knapp to UFO researcher Stanton Friedman, written around August 1989 as Knapp was preparing his first Bob Lazar broadcasts. Transcribed below.
Stan,
Here’s a check for the dub of your film. Sorry it took so long. I’ve had several additional meetings with Lazar and am getting a gut feeling that he is on the level. Here’s some additional leads you might want to follow up. He says he graduated from high school somewhere in Southern California, at age 15, attended two other colleges prior to MIT - Pierce College and U.C. Northridge. His first job at Los Alamos was in something called LAMPF(?), then later in the Meson facility. Says he was there for a couple of years, and I have indications that he did pick up a few traffic tickets in Los Alamos in the early 80’s. He is being very cautious these days in what he says to Lear and others because it soon becomes public knowledge.
He is also upset that so many people seem to be checking around in his past. Other tidbits - I have found several previously unreported cattle mutilation cases from here in Nevada and have been getting inquiries from all over the country about the Lear shows and the ‘Dennis’ interview. I’m planning to begin my series of reports during the second week in November and am trying to digest as much info as possible between now and then.
A couple of questions - have you done any research into the legitimacy of the ‘Canadian’ document written by a W. Smith, circa 1950? What about the so-called Aquarius document that mentions ongoing programs to fly saucers here in Nevada?
Finally, are you getting any closer to making an announcement of your conclusions re: the MJ-12 document? I’m planning to make a trip to New Mexico within the next month to try and talk with persons who have knowledge of the crashes, retrievals, green fireballs, coverups, or whatever. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help. Let me know what’s going on.
George Knapp
